 Istanbul Modern Art Museum (Turkish: Istanbul Modern Sanat Muzesi), usually just called Istanbul Modern, is a museum for contemporary art on the European side of Istanbul, inaugurated on December 11, 2004. 10 September 2008 – 25 January 2009  Curator: Engin Özendes Istanbul Museum of Modern Art opened a new photography exhibition titled "Human Conditions" that features photographs by Sitki Kosemen, and Ergun Turan and Sureyya Yilmaz Dernek at the Photography Gallery. 22 January 2009 - 6 May 2009  This exhibition will bring together key works by eight contemporary artists from seven different countries, and two master filmmakers from the first half of the 20th century. "In Praise of Shadows" will be displayed at the Irish Museum of Modern Art in Dublin from November 5, 2008 to January 4, 2009, and after the exhibition in Istanbul Modern, travel to the Benak Pureblood Reflections
In “Pureblood Reflections”, the new exhibition of the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art Photography Gallery, Peter Muller Peter introduces the Yeguada de la Cartuja horses, present at the courts of Europe ever since the 12th century, with a brand new interpretation. Peter Muller Peter creates dramatic stories by taking photographs of this horse that has been depicted in the paintings of famous European artists, by again photographing it together with these paintings.
